Biography

Evi claims she has been an artist since she was born. “All these years I have been working with different mediums which led me to a technique that moves me; Resin. I can feel the energy of the art through its movement and organic appearance that connects us to nature.” The technique she uses is truly liquid in form and gives the artist a self-styled presentation.

Evi was born in Bratislava Slovakia during the communist regime. It was a tough childhood with minimal opportunities. As a teenager she started dreaming of leaving her country and becoming an artist, believing if she stayed in Slovakia her dreams would slip away. At the age of 20, Evi decided she would follow her dreams and planned her escape. Through a series of events she told her family she was going on vacation. The hardest part was she couldn’t tell her family that she was not coming back. Only with documents in her pocket she hiked through the Alps to Italy, where she waited a year for a visa to come to the United States. Almost a year later she ended up in Florida and three years later in the Napa Valley. After several years, Evi was able to return to her country to visit her family. While working hard she kept painting and testing different mediums. She found resin, expressed her feelings. Evi says she learned a lot from this medium. “It’s passion, energy; it’s unique one-of-a-kind and unpredictable. The fire creates the beauty and brings out the movement.” Today she says “I look at my life and smile. I was always an artist; it’s in my blood. Art is who I am and who I always will be.”
