After more than 60 years of painting, Imre Buvary (born 1937 in Budapest, Hungary) has retired and now enjoys life in Northern California’s Bay Area. A disciplined advocate of classical and romantic traditions, Buvary devoted his career to capturing harmony, beauty, and a timeless sense of place.
In his final years of painting, Buvary focused on Napa Valley’s wineries and landscapes, creating more than a hundred miniature original oils that quickly became collector favorites. His work has been exhibited across Europe and the United States, featured on CBS Television, and collected internationally — including by Ronald and Nancy Reagan.
