“Sometimes knowledge is earnt via the journey of life or from the others that have experienced it firsthand, rather than being forced to conform to a social script to be part of the machine.”

Shipping & Delivery

Gallery-wrapped artwork: Generally ships fully insured via UPS or FedEx with signature required. Large specialty-framed works may require professional crating and a specialty art carrier.

About checkout shipping estimates: Our website calculates estimated shipping based on the artwork's purchase price rather than its exact size, framing, or delivery destination. The amount shown at checkout may therefore differ from the actual shipping cost.

For an accurate shipping quote, please contact Gallery 1870 before checkout, especially for framed or oversized artwork. If the checkout estimate is higher than the actual shipping cost, we'll refund the difference. If special shipping arrangements or additional charges are necessary, we'll contact you to review the options before proceeding. International shipping is available by quotation.

About the Artist – Pete Tillack

Pete Tillack is an Australian-born artist celebrated for his unique style of Philosophical Symbolism. His paintings often feature animals and objects placed in unexpected settings—lions on sofas, wolves in cathedrals, or foxes in wingback chairs—each chosen to symbolize deeper meanings about society, progress, and human experience.

Self-taught and shaped by a decade of global travel, Tillack draws from his encounters across cultures and landscapes. His use of strong contrasts, monochromatic palettes, and symbolic storytelling invites viewers to reflect on their own journey, choices, and the forces shaping their lives.
