Pete Tillack’s "Stretching Time" is a compelling original diptych that combines symbolic storytelling with the artist’s signature touch of wit and introspection. On the left, a raven balances on stacked books, grasping a small object chained to the second panel. On the right, its counterpart perches on an open book, gently holding a pocket watch suspended at the end of that same chain. The symbolism is immediate yet open-ended—speaking to the tension between knowledge and time, or perhaps the pull between memory and the present.

The luminous aluminum background paired with the refined damask-inspired pattern adds an elegant backdrop, enhancing the interplay of light and shadow. The rich dark wood framing, hand-selected by the artist, further elevates the theatrical quality of the work.
