Imre Buvary: A Life Devoted to Beauty and Tradition
Support Retired Artist Imre Buvary
Born in 1937 in Budapest, Imre Buvary is a Hungarian-American artist whose work reflects a lifelong devotion to classical beauty and Romantic tradition. After leaving Hungary in 1971, he settled in California, where he built a distinguished career spanning more than six decades.
In the final chapter of his painting career, Buvary created over one hundred intimate 5 x 7” original oil paintings inspired by Napa Valley. Every one of these works has since been acquired by collectors, representing the final original paintings ever created by the artist and now held in private collections.
Select compositions from this series are available as 10 x 8” reproductions, offered as canvas giclées and museum-quality fine art paper prints—providing a rare opportunity to engage with the artist’s final body of work.
Buvary’s paintings are held in distinguished collections, including that of Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan, and continue to offer collectors a timeless expression of harmony, beauty, and quiet refinement.
