Artist Biography – Tania (Tetiana) Yukhimets (TY)
Tania (Tetiana) Yukhimets, known professionally as TY, was born in Kiev, Ukraine. After graduating from the Kiev State Academy of Fine Arts, Tania spent years developing her own distinctive style of painting—deeply influenced by the luminous brushwork and atmospheric color of the French Impressionists.
With numerous commissions and countless works collected internationally, Tania became one of the most respected and sought-after artists in Eastern Europe. Her work captures the essence of light, movement, and mood—transforming ordinary moments into scenes of poetic beauty.
From 1985 to 1993, Tania studied art at the Kiev State Academy of Fine Arts, mastering traditional techniques that would later define her impressionistic approach. Between 2005 and 2010, she taught painting, drawing, and composition at the Kiev State College of Applied Arts, sharing her passion and expertise with a new generation of artists.
In the fall of 2010, Tania moved to California, where she continues to paint and exhibit her art. Her current body of work—ranging from serene landscapes and cityscapes to her popular miniature oil paintings—reflects her ongoing quest for beauty through art.
