About the Artist – Leon Roulette

Contemporary Impressionist artist Leon Roulette is best known for his luminous landscapes, romantic cityscapes, and vibrantly translucent florals. Working primarily in oil, Roulette has mastered the effect of light as it passes through flower petals, drifts across clouds, or illuminates distant landscapes, creating paintings that feel both timeless and alive.

As a child, Leon developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and an early passion for painting. These influences combined to shape the extraordinary artistic vision that defines his work today. His paintings are often compared to the romantic landscape traditions of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, capturing both the grandeur and emotional beauty of nature.

Whether depicting a windswept mountain range in Alaska, the historic Spanish Missions of California, the coastal beauty of the French and Italian Riviera, or the elegant architecture of Venice, Roulette brings a sense of intimacy and wonder to every subject. His ability to translate these scenes onto canvas creates an immersive visual experience for collectors around the world.

Born on December 11, 1959, and raised in Southern California, Leon studied art through private instruction before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from California State University, Long Beach. His education included historical and classical fine art studies as well as architecture and design theory. Early in his career, he spent several years teaching art throughout Southern California before dedicating himself fully to his painting career.

Today, Leon Roulette's artwork can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and internationally, where collectors continue to be drawn to his remarkable use of color, light, and atmosphere.
