Elle, a curious little baby elephant, knew an adventure was underway the moment Ma and Pop pulled out their well-worn suitcase. Its faded stickers told stories of Paris, New York, Venice, and other faraway places, and Elle wondered where they might be going this time. She watched as Ma carefully packed her favorite Hermès scarves and Pop selected his finest bow ties, then overheard something about reservations at The French Laundry and Château Montelena. Elle's little ears perked up. French Laundry? Château whatever—they must be going to France again.

There was only one problem: Ma and Pop seemed to have forgotten to pack Elle. So when they stepped out of the room, the little elephant climbed straight into the open suitcase and nestled herself into its soft pink satin lining. There. Much better. Ma and Pop wouldn't have to worry about forgetting anything important.

Ma returned to find two enormous ears peeking out of her suitcase. "Oh, Elle," she laughed. "You adorable little pachyderm. Pop and I are headed to Napa Valley, but you get to go to Mimi's." Elle climbed out without argument. Mimi's was her favorite destination of all—bedtime was negotiable, treats were plentiful, and baby elephants were always properly spoiled. Besides, who wants to go all the way to Napa Valley just to do laundry?
