Artist's Statement — The Line

"With new growth comes fear, but also freedoms.
Light passes thru the concrete caverns, constantly moving the sidewalk silhouettes.
The higher we reach, the more things look different—but is there a limit, and if so, is it self-imposed or natural?
As brief as life is, it was never meant to be stagnant. It is full of evolution, and this may answer the question to be part of ‘what is the meaning.’
The scenery always changes as we move forward, whether you’re the passenger or the driver. There will always be a loss due to progress—the ironsmith, the milkman, or the elevator operator. There is no blossom without blood.
You have to find, or even design, your place, because there are times that someone has moved the cheese… even the smallest of things can make a great impact. Sometimes you realize that the mouse was actually the lion."

Each Artist Proof is printed on archival-quality canvas, stretched over 1.5-inch-deep stretcher bars with finished gallery-wrapped edges. The artwork arrives ready to hang and can be displayed beautifully without an additional frame, or custom framed to complement your décor.

Artist Specialty Frame

The artist's specialty-framed presentation creates a finished, gallery-ready appearance. The larger 40 × 24-inch and 50 × 30-inch sizes are offered with a handcrafted, heavy-duty aluminum float frame. Contact Gallery 1870 for help choosing a frame or discussing alternate custom framing.

Ordering & Production Time

Each Artist Proof is produced to order. The canvas is prepared, then hand-embellished, signed and numbered; specialty framing is completed where selected.

Estimated production and shipping preparation: Please allow approximately 3–6 weeks before tracking information is issued. Timing can vary with the artist's schedule and framing requirements; please contact Gallery 1870 if you need the artwork by a particular date.

Shipping & Delivery

Unframed artwork: Generally shipped fully insured via UPS or FedEx with signature required. Shipping arrangements depend on the artwork’s dimensions and destination.

Specialty-framed artwork: Larger framed pieces may require professional crating and a specialty art carrier.

About checkout shipping estimates: Our website calculates estimated shipping based on the artwork’s purchase price rather than its exact size, framing, or delivery location. The amount shown at checkout may therefore differ from the actual shipping cost.
